Farmer's Wife in your Life: Fabric Bucket/Bag

Hi everyone!!

Today I am sharing my accomplishment of making another project inspired by the Farmer's Wife sampler blocks.

Originally I intend to make a fabric bucket to carry my crochet and embroidery work in progress ...

but once everything finished it turn out to look more like a bag rather than a bucket...
the size of the bag was 14" x 12" x 6"

I used 4  6" finished blocks to construct my project.  I used home decor medium-weight sewing fabric.

After having a lot of fun playing with the Farmer's Wife sampler quilt block I am happy with my accomplishment of making something useful for every day!!

Happy Sewing!!

One Flower Wednesday

Hi everyone!!

I am happy today to found Journey of A Quilter blog owned by Karen. Why I'm so happy??? because she has this ' One Flower Wednesday' party for all..  I immediately joined when I saw this since it help me to use up all my small scraps fabric for this project. A week for a flower is not that difficult goal to achieve ... I think so.
and this is my first hexagon flower for this week.

Hook and Needle Case

Hi everyone!!

My sewing project for this week was this Hook and Needle case.  I am using 2 pieces of  the 6" Farmer'sWife in your Life block sampler which was part of the guideline for the contest  hosted by Sunni at Love Affair with my Brother... blog

I choose Kaleidscope, and some Ruby fabric which I've bought from Sew Lux Fabric and Gifts for this project. The green dotted fabric was a giveaway prize that I've won at Sew it Love it. The finished size of this casing is 7" x 8" . I used velcro as the closure at the side.

and this is how the inside looks like. It can holds about 15 pieces of crochet hooks, sewing needles( I used felt fabric for this), thread and a scissor.

I submit this as part of my entry for the contest...

Today  I am sharing one of my sewing activity during the weekends...
Garden Steps blocks... and this is my favorite block.

Basically I have finished sewing all the 12 blocks during the weekends....and I love it all !!

I choose to use the following layout... so that I don't have to worry about making mistake in choosing the block when I start stitching the embroideries...

The embroidery pattern for the first block was already posted  at Clover and Violet on 8th March ... but I've yet to find my time for it... maybe during the weekend. Till next week, here is all of the 12 blocks ready ...

Rose Garden Quilt : New FO

Hi everyone!!

I started my new project in March by cutting some fabric from my scraps bin.  I am using my own block pattern which I created myself. I look at the fabric colors and design before I start creating the blocks.  Since I don't own any software so I sketch the block pattern  using the graph paper.

I name my pattern  as Rose Garden quilt...since I'm using the rose printing cotton fabric as the center. Actually it will not be exactly at the center for all blocks. The rose square will be randomly arrange at different position. This is the first block that I have sewn.  I am excited to see the result of what I've created....hope it turn out beautiful. Size of the center block is 4.5"x4.5"

And these are another two more blocks that I've just finished yesterday...
The finished block size  at 12.5" x 12.5"

Happy Creating and Sewing!!

GardenSteps : Stitch and Quilt Along

Hello friends!!

Jennie and her mother over at Clover and Violet are having another Stitch &; Quilt Along which have started with Fabric and Supply list on the 22nd February. I have enjoyed their first Stitch and Quilt along last year and definitely look forward for this one.   I had choose and place an order for the Good Fortune by Kate Spain kit at Sew Lux Fabric & Gifts and since it will takes about 2-3 weeks to reach my country I have to start off with other fabric.  I choose to use the Domestic Bliss combine with some Ruby fabrics. Here are all the fabrics that I decide to use.  Upon arrival of the kit, I might use it for other quilt projects or...maybe another Garden Steps quilt(time will tell)

For those interested, click HERE and it will take you to the site for more information. This will be fun and you will enjoyed every minute doing it!! Hope you will join in...
Happy Stitching!!

Another New FO and a finish

Hi Everyone!!

This is my new FO Block that I've started last night week. It is a hexagon pattern block size 12.5" x 12.5" .  I intend to make it into a quilt...which basically I'm not sure for whom.  Most probably it will be just another set of quilt for my daughter.  Since the design and colors are so sweet for a girl... my daughter might love this.

I also did have a finish project for this week.... it is a  Rainbow Whirlygigs Mini Quilt.  I received the free Kit  from Sew Lux Fabrics & Gifts on Friday 17th and excited to give it a try.
Here is the result of the mini quilt...
