New baby hat

Latest crocheted hat designed by me for children. It comes in various colours.  Curretnly I'm working on combination of purple and pink colors.  It can be with or without the flower.

Crocheted Scarf

This is the first crocheted scarf that I did for my son.  It takes about five days to complete since I am a working mother.  I do not have much time to spend on my favorite craft.  My leisure time was only during the weekends or at night after 10pm when all my children went to bed.  I allocate one hour a day to crochet during week days and four hours during weekends.  This is because during weekends I need to do all the cleaning,washing & other household chores beside spending time with my children.  I also make sure that at least I complete one project in a week. Oh.. how I wish God give me more time...to do all the things that I want to do.  There are a long list of crochet & sewing projects that awaiting to be accomplished.

MATERIALS:
Worsted  Yarn : Color : pink/striking pink/lavender
Steel Hook: No. 5 & 6
Ribbon


Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc, dc

Cross Stitch (cr st) : Sk next dc, dc in next dc, dc in dc just skipped.

INSTRUCTIONS:

With Lavender,Ch 5, sl st to form ring.
Rnd1: Ch 3, work 14 dc in ring, sl st in top of beg ch-3. (15dc)
Rnd2: Ch3, *dc in same st. 2dc in ea dc, repeat from* around. sl st to top of beg ch-3. (30dc)
Rnd3: Ch3,*2dc in next, dc in next dc, repeat from* around. sl st to top of beg ch-3. (45dc)
Rnd4: Ch3,dc in next dc,*2dc in next dc,dc in next 2 dc, repeat from* around. sl st to top of beg ch 3. (60 dc)
Rnd5: With pink - Ch3, dc in same st,*dc in next 4 dc,2dc in next dc, repeat from* around, sl st to top of ch 3.(72 dc)
Rnd6: Ch3, dc in same st,*dc in next 5 dc,2 dc in next dc, repeat from* around, sl st to top of ch 3.(84 dc)
Rnd7: With Striking pink - Ch3, Cross st across (42 cross sts) sl st to top of beg ch-3.
Rnd8: Ch3, dc in each dc around. sl st to top of beg ch-3.(84 dc)
Rnd9: With lavender - Ch3, Cross st across (42 cross sts) sl st to top of beg ch-3.
Rnd10: With pink - Ch3, dc in each dc around. sl st to top of beg ch-3.
Rnd11: With Striking pink - Ch3, Cross st across (42 cross sts) sl st to top of beg ch-3.
Rnd12: With pink - Ch3, Cross st across (42 cross sts) sl st to top of beg ch-3.

To make a ruffled brim for a little girl- ch3, 3tr in each dc around. With Lavender sc around, change to pink sc around, change to striking pink and sc around. Slip stitch and fasten off.

FINISHING: Weave ribbon in and out of Rnd11 and tie a bow. This can be used to tighten the hat to the baby's head.

Crocheted dress

Last week end, the Chinese are celebrating the
CHINESE NEW YEAR and most of the Malaysian took this opportunity to went back to their hometown. I went back to my hometown too, which is located at Taiping, Perak. It tooks me about 4 hours journey from Kuala Lumpur. During my stay I 've tried the dress that I've crocheted (meant to be for my new baby niece)to my 2 years old niece(brother's daughter). Here is the picture how it looks on her. A bit tight especially at her chest, since the design was meant to be for the new baby.

Another crocheted baby dress just completed last weekend...7th February 2010. It's a gift for my niece... my nineth niece. My sister's first daughter... after having four boys. The photo is not sharp...very blur and it makes the color not so outstanding. I'll post another with a clearer image.

Crocheted dress

Latest project created by me.... A combination of fabric and crocheted top from cotton thread. The 1st photo is the back, 2nd is the front of the dress and the last photo is how it looks on my daughter. The flower was requested by her. The flower was made using the worsted yarn.

Baby dress

I crocheted this dress for my niece. She is 4 months old. It is a combination of crochet top and fabric as a skirt. I've start crocheting it on 14th and completed it on 17th January,last Sunday. Basically both are the same item, it looks different due to the 1st photo was without flash. The second photo is with flash and the color turn out to be more like the actual item.

Toddler Hat

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone...
This year I start with a simple hat project for my daughter. This hat starts on Monday January 9th and completed on 11th January. I would claim that this is from my own design. I do write the pattern but it is meant for my own used. Currently I still in the process of learning to write the pattern of my own design by using the standard term. English basically is not my mother tongue, so I feel quite difficult to write this pattern. One of this day I will share some free pattern for the items that I've made for my children.
