March Finishes #01: Pouches

Hi Everyone!!

My first finishes for this month are these pouches ...Hello Kitty pouches, size 4.5" X 8"

Make-up pouch , size 6.5" x 8"
This is how the inside looks like. It comes with a side pocket with velcro snap for closure.
And these are all the finished pouches...

Another finishes for March...a  Scrappy Triple-zip pouch that I sew for a friend. She request to have the same colors and design as the one that I've made for myself in February.  And for that I comply and this is the result... and of course she was so..so happy!

I love this pattern and you will not be suprised to see me sewing this again... of course enough of the green, blue and red. I would love to try in other colors...  anyway I will keep my style of  sewing small projects from scrap fabrics using QAYG technique.  If you would like to try this, you can  find the tutorial of this triple-zip pouch by Debbie over at The Quilter's Table.

February Finishes #03 : ScrappyTriple-Zip pouch

Hi everyone!

If you has been following me long enough, you would know that I love making pouches.  When I found Debbie's of A Quilter's Table,is having  a sew along party namely Triple-Zip Along, I am so excited and join in the fun.  This is how my first Triple-Zip pouch looks like.  It was made 100% from scrap fabrics and  due to that I name it Scrappy Triple-Zip Pouch.

This is how the back looks like.  I used QAYG technique.

and this is the inside of the pouch. I used dark polka dot fabric for the lining.

I love the colors and definitely this piece I will keep for myself.

January Finishes

January Finished #01 : Pouches

Hello  everyone!!

I finished sewing these pouches for my daughters....both fabric were cut together with other pouches which I finished in December 2012.    These two are leftover from that project.  My 9 years old daughter used it as a pencil case  for her afternoon class....the finished size is 4" x 6.5"

and this is another one for my  6 years old daughter. She used it as her pencil case too.   The finished size of the pouch is 5" x 6.5".  It comes with a pocket at  the outside

and this is how the inside looks like. She request it big so that her calculator can fit in...

and this is another set ...a request by her friend ...and she wants exactly like hers... using the smiley fabric.

To differentiate between the two, I made a zipper puller from the smiley face for her friend...

and used different fabric for the lining.

These are all my first finished for January 2013...  I'm linking to January Finishes linky party over at

Happy Little Pouches

Hi Everyone!

Today I have two pouches to share which I’ve finished during the weekend. First up is this scrappy pouch which I made for myself using the Coquette fabric.

Not that satisfied with the result… I hand stitch a yellow thread to make it more outstanding, and the result…it makes the scrappy block looks as being frame. Hmmm…now I’m happy!
The size of this pouch is approximately 5.5” H x 3” D x 9” L. It is big enough for keeping all my left over yarns from other crocheted projects.
Next pouch that I’ve finished is a boxy pouch. My eight years old daughter request for a new pencil box and I choose to follow the Pontoms box pouch tutorial by Mommy’s Nap Time. To make it more interesting for a little girl I sew this bug for the zipper puller…
The finished size of this pencil box pouch is approximately 2” H x 3” D x 7” L. This is my first try to sew a boxy pouch… and I’m happy with the result.

I am lucky to have finished both of these pouches on time to submit for the Happy Little Pouch Hop.
