February Finishes #02 : Heart Coin Purse

I want to do something different today… so I put down the hook and crochet project
that I’ve been working on.

Today I want to play with my scraps.
Inspired by all the hearts that have been the topic of February month,
I choose to make something from it too. By end of the day, this is what I’ve came out with….
heart coin purse.  I finished not one but two coin purses.

This is how the second one looks like.

So which one do you like most?  Maybe I can write the tutorial on how to make it.
What say you?

Wishing a fantastic Weekend!

February finishes #02 : Crochet Coin Purse

This post is part of the Stash Buster Challenge 2013 : #01

At last... I finished my first project for the Stash Buster Challenge.  This challenge is hosted by Linda over at Linda's Crafty Corner. These are the yarns that I am thinking of using at first but I end up with only two yarns being used...

and this is how my first project looks like....crocheted coin purse.  The finished size of this coin purse is 4" x 5.5".   I am using this challenge not only to make use my stash but also to try new stitches and create new pattern.

This coin purse was crocheted  using star stitch following the tutorial that I found at Fruitful Fusion.
After everything done, I found that I have wrongly sew the lining...(the zipper should be hidden between the lining and the crochet piece) Anyway it just too many thing to re-do ...so I just leave it as it is. First lesson to learn from my first project.

These are the yarns that I will be using for my next project which yet to be decided ... definitely it must be something that I've never try before.

Happy Crocheting!!

Ruffle Coin Purse

I was clearing and reorganised my sewing corner last weekend.
While going through my stash collection, I came across a project
that has been neglected for quite sometime.
A simple coin purse measuring about 4" x 6" square...
To make it interesting rather than just a simple square coin purse,
I add ruffle made from stash fabric and zig zag it with a ribbon on top of it.
And this is how it turn out to looks like...

Happy Sewing!

Sewing

It has been quite sometime I do crocheting...since I was so busy sewing bags and stuff for sale at the Carnival at my area.  The carnival just took place last Saturday and Sunday(29th-30th May).  Among the sewing stuffs that were on display for sale on that day aside from bags were pin cushions, zipper pencil case, makeup kit and coin purses.
This is the handmade banner that I've made with the help of my children.  I used this banner to promote my craft  stall/corner at the carnival.

Coin purses - my first few purses that I've made...not very perfect but OK la...

Pin cushions
I still continue with my sewing since there are few fabric that I've cut but not manage to complete on time. And in between I also do crocheting since I've received orders for the baby beanie and I need to complete it by tomorrow...as being promised.
