Starburst Quilt-A-Long

Hello Everyone!!

These are the fabrics that I choose for this Quilt-A-Long hosted by Melissa over at Happy Quilting.

After reading the cutting instruction which need to have fabrics from different value I'm not sure if my choice of fabric is OK for this quilt along...but still I proceed with the cutting since I don't have much choice.

I completed the cutting today and ready for the next step. This is my first new project for 2013.

Happy Quilt-A-Long!!

A Finish : Rose Garden Quilt top

This is part of the 2013 FAL and UFOs To-Do-List

I finished piecing the Rose Garden blocks on Monday but only manage to post about it today. This is how my finished Rose Garden quilt top looks like.
I used 15 blocks size 12.5” for this quilt. The finished quilt size is about 49” x 72”.

I used 1.5” white fabric for the sashing. This finish is my first quilt top that completed in 2013 from my  UFOs list. I started this quilt sometime last year using scrap fabrics .

It feels so good-to have it finished!

Happy Quilting everyone!!

January Finished #01 : Pouches

Hello  everyone!!

I finished sewing these pouches for my daughters....both fabric were cut together with other pouches which I finished in December 2012.    These two are leftover from that project.  My 9 years old daughter used it as a pencil case  for her afternoon class....the finished size is 4" x 6.5"

and this is another one for my  6 years old daughter. She used it as her pencil case too.   The finished size of the pouch is 5" x 6.5".  It comes with a pocket at  the outside

and this is how the inside looks like. She request it big so that her calculator can fit in...

and this is another set ...a request by her friend ...and she wants exactly like hers... using the smiley fabric.

To differentiate between the two, I made a zipper puller from the smiley face for her friend...

and used different fabric for the lining.

These are all my first finished for January 2013...  I'm linking to January Finishes linky party over at

2013 Finish A-Long - 1st Quarter

Hello everyone!

Everybody like  to have a fresh start of the new year with list of new projects and quilt along. I love that too , but before starting a new project I need to set a plan on how I could also finish some of my UFOs and WiPs at the same time. This brings me to join 2013 Finish A-Long party hosted by Leanne of She can Quilt.   This party was introduced by Rhonda of Quilter in the Gap  last year. So without further ado, following are the first quarter Finish A-Long list of UFOs and WiP that I plan to finish up.

Embroidery 101 quilt....my first quilt top from my first quilt along that I've joined.... finished in October 2011. The quilt along was hosted by Jennie and Clara of Clover & Violet. It is currently one of my Work in Progress.

I'm already half way finished hand quilted it and hope to see it bound by end of January.

Second in the list is this Scraptacular quilt top which I did with the attention of clearing my scraps in line with the Scrap Attack. It was one of the quilt top that I submitted in the celebration of the Festival of Scrappiness  hosted by Rachel of Stitched in Colors....

To complete piecing these blocks into a quilt top... I name it  Rose Garden quilt.

Another project that  need piecing is these blocks which I started in 2012...

Last but not least... to finished sewing this bundle of pouches and bags that I've cut and keep aside for ages in my sewing room!

2. To finish sewing one of these pouches ...

3. Piecing these rose garden blocks

4.  Piecing these quilt blocks

5.  Last but not least is a work in progress which is a cute crochet  granny bag...I don't have the photo to show you at this moment how it looks like.  I will try to share the photo in one of my WiP post.
