February Finishes #01 : Cute Granny Bag

Hi !

Remember this project?
I've finished crocheting this bag for quite some time...just only today I manage to share the result.  It was on my WIP in the month of January. I finished hand stitched the lining using green stripe fabric with small pocket at the inside of the bag.

This is how the finished bag looks like from the front view.  The finished size of the bag is 7.5"x 2"x 7.5"(not include the handle), the size with handle is 12"x 2" x 7.5"

and this is how the closure of the bag looks like.

Happy Creating everyone!!

Project Quilting Challenge

Hi friends!!

I am having Kim Lapacek, a creative mother to three beautiful girls, own an apple orchard(Lapacek's Orchard, where she share free recipes that you will enjoy) and owner of the Persimon Dreams blog.  Lets meet her and see what she have to share with us ...

Hello everyone! This is Kim from Persimon Dreams and I’m so happy to be here sharing some exciting Project QUILTING news with you. We are currently in the midst of Season 4. The first two challenges inspired over 100 quilts to be created – so amazing! The third challenge went up on Sunday, February 3rd and I can’t wait to see what comes from it (still time for you to join in!)

I personally love Project QUILTING because it has been extremely inspirational to me in my quilting journey. I know I only have a week for the projects but it’s a great opportunity to give ideas in my mind a try – see what happens, try new techniques. If it works…maybe I’ll do a bigger project that takes more time. Project QUILTING has me creating pieces I never imagined before, it brought me out of the only making ‘what I think will sell’ and in turn, and the Project QUILTING community has been such an inspiration and support.

I have heard from many that they love watching along with Project QUILTING and the projects created from the challenges but they just can’t fit making a quilt in just one week. That’s what my exciting news is all about today – a new *Bonus* Project QUILTING Challenge. I’ve teamed up with a fabulous online fabric store – The Fat Quarter Shop to bring you all the ‘Fat Quarter Shop Bundle Challenge – Tradition Times Three’

Diane outlines what is required for this particular challenge. You must go to the Fat Quarter Shop to buy the fabric bundle

in order to complete the challenge BUT the twist is – you have until May 30th, 2013 to submit your challenge! At that point, one of my girls will randomly draw a winner of $75 to use at the Fat Quarter Shop.

I also wanted to share with you a few ways you can save on your fabric bundle. First – head over to my blog and enter in the giveaway

OR if you want to save 20% off your entire purchase of fabric from the Fat Quarter Shop check out this blog post to find the special code – good through February 10th.

Thanks for having me and I hope to see you all with a quilt in one or more Project QUILTING Challenges. Have a great rest of your week!

~Kim Lapacek

So friends...
Are your ready to join in the challenges? Don't forget the giveaway too! It is still on and open to all ...

February 2013 : UFOs To-Do List

Hi Everyone!!

Here I am again...to share with you the list of UFOs that I look forward to finish in February month...

1. First in the list is the Embroidery 101 quilt...I did not accomplish my goal to finish it in January  so I'm putting it in again this month!

2. To finish piecing these blocks into a quilt top...

3.  To piece these scrappy blocks from the Scrap Attack String quilt along that I joined in 2012. Currently I have finished 52 blocks and I need to have another 28 pieces to make a quilt in size of 44" x 55"

4. To finish this crochet granny bag

5.  To finish  sewing the bag which I've cut the fabric in 2010...  in this picture it is the one at the background in blue color.

I am linking with A Passion for Applique for my first three goals,

and with Pigtales and Quilts and NeverToo Hot to Stitch! for all the five goals...

BUT  there are several new small projects finishes this month as following....

January 2013 :UFOs To-Do List

Hello Everyone!
It's time to share the result of my January UFOs To-Do List....following are the outcome:

1.  Embroidery 101...it still Work in Progress.  I failed to finish this project within this month. It is also part of the A Lovely Year of Finishes: January 2013 Currently it is at the final stage of binding and I'm thinking of machine bind it...this is how it looks like after I hand quilted the top.

2. Anyway I am happy to I inform that I finished sewing two of my UFOs pouches... and I blog about it HERE.

3. I've completed piecing all the blocks for the Rose Garden quilt... and I post about it HERE

4.  I've yet to finish piecing all these block... everything still remain as they are.

5.  The crocheted granny bag is still work in progress too...there are still some details need to be done to the bag... Anyway  just to share how the bag looks like here it is!  I'm still in the process of stitching the lining of the bag....

So in summary, out of five projects that I've listed I only manage to accomplished two, and I did this in between of joining the sewing challenges and  quilt along that I participated in January 2013...
