April NewFO

Hi Everyone!!

I've been very busy for the past few weeks(office commitment)... and only today I'm able to share my April NewFO and sewing activities that took place in the month of April. I started the month of April by sewing two tops using the Wiksten pattern and join Kerry of VeryKerryBerry Tova Sew a-long.

  

 Next were projects used half square triangle for the Half Square triangles festival at  Canoe Ridge Creations....    I did a lunch tote... and a Sewing Machine Cover.

 Another small project that I sew is the Emma clutch pattern that I received free from Jennie of
 Clover & Violet   for finishing the Ruby tote bag.  For more photos on this you may click HERE.

I also did have a new quilt block sew using my scraps...which I did not post about it in the month of April...this is how it looks like.  All the blocks are done and just waiting to be joined together...

Other activities that  involved sewing  were...  my Rose Garden quilt. I  managed to finished sewing  all the blocks and it's ready to be joined.

 

I finished stitching the embroidery for my Garden Step Block #3 for the Stitch & Quilt Along
that I joined at Clover & Violet.

 April month is also  full with happy moments... I received both  my prizes that I won in the month of April..I would say this is my happiest birthday presents that I've ever received....fabrics from oversea. 

The first prize was from Sharon of Vroomans Quilts for her 400 giveaway ...
which were Friendship and Bella solid charm pack. 

 

...and secondly was a prize I won for my entry in the Festival of Scrappiness hosted by Rachel of
Stitched in Color.  The prize was sponsored by Mad About Patchwork

March 2012 NewFO

Hi everyone!!

Another month is over...and today I am sharing all the NewFO that I've started in the month of March 2012. The March New FO started with the Garden Steps Quilt.  Basically it was a Quilt Along that I participated at Clover and Violet.

  Second project was this quilt which I name it Rose Garden... I only managed to finished three blocks.

Third was this Postage Stamp quilt with the top finished,,, ready to sew the backing ... I've yet to look for the fabric.

Fourth was a BOM that I joined with Megan and  Heather at  Quilt Story... The first block started with 9 Patch block...

Fifth was another new party that I've joined at Journey of a Quilter ....One Flower Wednesday using hexagon.  I used  one inch hexagon size for my flowers. For the month of March I only managed to finished two flowers....

I know that NewFO is about starting a new projects but never the less in the month of March I did have some finished projects too.  First was this Fabric Bag ...


and secondly was this Hook and Needle Case. 


Both are entries for the Farmer's Wife in My Life hosted by Sunni of Love Affair with My Brother...

Well that's about my March NewFO... looking forward for more NewFO in the month of April.!!

Block of the Month with Quilt Story

Hi there!!

I've started with another new FO which I participated at Quilt Story.

 I choose the Lou Lou  fabric for the March block .  I know... I was late but better later than never right...so here is the result of my 9 patch block for the Block of the Month with Quilt Story.

New FO : Postage Stamp

Hi everyone!!

Another new project that I've started during the week end aside from the Garden Step QAL was this Postage Stamp pattern blocks.

I have been doing the cutting and sewing most of the scraps available in my collection... and looking forward to finish this postage quilt top by end of this week.

As at today I've finished sewing 10 blocks of 14" x 14" and I intend to join all these blocks together during the Friday Night Sew-In along with other participants from other part of the world. Till then...

Garden Steps : Blocks Assembling

Hi everyone!!

 Today  I am sharing one of my sewing activity during the weekends... 

Garden Steps blocks... and this is my favorite block.

Basically I have finished sewing all the 12 blocks during the weekends....and I love it all !!

I choose to use the following layout... so that I don't have to worry about making mistake in choosing the block when I start stitching the embroideries...

The embroidery pattern for the first block was already posted  at Clover and Violet on 8th March ... but I've yet to find my time for it... maybe during the weekend. Till next week, here is all of the 12 blocks ready ...

Rose Garden Quilt : New FO

Hi everyone!!

I started my new project in March by cutting some fabric from my scraps bin.  I am using my own block pattern which I created myself. I look at the fabric colors and design before I start creating the blocks.  Since I don't own any software so I sketch the block pattern  using the graph paper.

I name my pattern  as Rose Garden quilt...since I'm using the rose printing cotton fabric as the center. Actually it will not be exactly at the center for all blocks. The rose square will be randomly arrange at different position. This is the first block that I have sewn.  I am excited to see the result of what I've created....hope it turn out beautiful. Size of the center block is 4.5"x4.5"



And these are another two more blocks that I've just finished yesterday...

New FO : February

Hi there!!

Today I would like to recap all the new FO that I have started during the month of February.  First in the list was this Scrappy String Block which was basically A Quilt A-Long project that I participated at Sew Lux Fabric & Gifts.  These are the blocks that I've finished so far.

Secondly was the quilt for my sister using the nine patch pattern ...which  I finished with the top...  It measures 65" x 72" . It is ready to layer, quilt and bind ..I have yet to look for the backing fabric.

The third project was this hexagon block which currently I only manage to finished  one block...

Last but not least I finished a peasant top for my girl and a mini whilygigs quilt ...

That are all that I have accomplished for the month of February.... I'm looking forward for more new projects in March….

Another New FO and a finish

Hi Everyone!!

This is my new FO Block that I've started last night week. It is a hexagon pattern block size 12.5" x 12.5" .  I intend to make it into a quilt...which basically I'm not sure for whom.  Most probably it will be just another set of quilt for my daughter.  Since the design and colors are so sweet for a girl... my daughter might love this.

I also did have a finish project for this week.... it is a  Rainbow Whirlygigs Mini Quilt.  I received the free Kit  from Sew Lux Fabrics & Gifts on Friday 17th and excited to give it a try.

Peasant top and a New FO

Hello!!

I just finished sewing a peasant top for my eight years old daughter during the weekend. This is how it looks like... 

 I follow the free pattern tutorial by  Lier at Ikat Bag.  It is a very simple pattern and easy to follow even for a beginner.

With that finished, I start to cut and sew my February New FO Quilt Block. This quilt is for my sister since the stash fabric were given by her.   I used nine patch design ...

and this is how I intend to arrange each block when everything finished.
