Value Added Quilt Along

Hello everyone!!

One of my new project that currently in progress is this Value Added Quilt Along. It was co-hosted by Rachel(Stitched In Color) ,Leila (Where the Orchids Grow), Amy (Badskirt),and  Jolene (Blue Elephant Stitches).
Value Added

I choose the Jacob's Ladder pattern by Jolene of  Blue Elephant Stitches

Following are the beauties that I choose from my stash.. for this project....combination of Good Fortune by Kate Spain,Thread Wind by Ashley and Vintage Modern  by Bonnie and Camille.  All these are FQ bundles that I've bought at Sew Lux Fabrics.

I am still in the process of cutting all the tiny pieces.... personally I would say this pattern was the first that I've ever follow which need a lot of cutting. Below are the work in progress which I arranged using mosaic.  The last photo was the first block that I've finished... I love it so much.  It  turn out so satisfying...

and last night I finished another three blocks and my first diamond shape block created.  I still have a long way to go...but surely I will reach there.

Happy Sewing everyone!!

the Louisa Bag

Hello Everyone!!

Today I am  sharing my finished sewing project during the weekend ... the Louisa bag, latest pattern by Clover and Violet.  I feel so happy when being asked by Jennie to test the pattern for Clover and Violet.  Here is the finished  bag.

The inside of the bag, with two pockets.

The outside of the bag comes with a side pocket at both side with ties.

I used Velcro for the bag closure in replace of a magnetic snap since I don't have one in my stock.

As a whole I really have fun sewing it, I would say that Clover and Violet patterns are easy to follow.

As like other patterns that I've sewn before, the instruction is easy to understand. Other patterns that I have sewn before are the Emma Clutch and the Anne handbag.

Happy Sewing!!

The Great Granny Along

Hello there!!

Have you heard about this Great Granny Along? The Great Granny Along is  jointly hosted by Lori of Bee in My Bonnet and Jodi of Pleasant Home.

I just couldn't resist from joining in...it is something new to learn.  Furthermore I can make use all my scraps fabric. These are my first two Ruby blocks that I've finished.

I will be using a mixture of  other fabrics since I don't have enough Ruby fabric left in my scraps collection.

You can also visit  the Great Granny Along Flickr group to see collection of beautiful  blocks done by other quilters.

Happy sewing!

Fusion Blanket Crochet along

Hello Everyone!!

Today I am sharing my progress with my latest crochet along that I've participated.  This crochet along  is jointly hosted by Corey  Cindy and Deborah Basically I've finished sewing all the 80 pieces of the 5" squares. I used Ruby line with a mixture of California Girl fabric due to shortage of the Ruby stash.

Here are the squares ...one box of Ruby and another of California Girl.

Squares are all sewn and pressed. Next step is to blanket stitch each and every pieces before I can start crocheting.

I  use cotton thread for crocheting the edge. These are my finished squares so far.   You may also visit flickr group to see what others are doing...

Happy crocheting!!

That's right...another crochet along for me. I just can't help it.  I love both sewing and crocheting and when I stumble upon this crochet along at LMS  immediately I jump in.  I will use Ruby and California Girl fabrics from my stash for this project.  This is some of my Ruby fabric which I have cut into 5" square for this project.

The first post  about the Fusion Blanket Crochet Along will start tomorrow at Little Miss Shabby.  If you're interested to join you are still not too late to get your supply.   Head over to LMS to get the details.

Happy Sewing and Crocheting!!

Weekend Handbag

Hi Everyone!!

I've been working on this handbag for a few weeks now and today I am ready to share the finished handbag.

It was made from three FQ Vintage sheet which I bought from Ironsea Etsy shop. The owner of the shop, Ms. Jeni  was kind enough to put together combination of 10FQ Vintage fabric. I  never use Vintage sheet in making bags before and this is my first.

This is how I did the center of the bag using the scraps from the same fabric.

Scraps fabric that I used for the center.

This is how the front bag looks like after the center was done.

It includes with internal pocket for keeping small items.

The finished size of the main body of the bag is 12"height  x 13" length.  It is a shoulder length handbag using medium weight fusible and the pattern is my own. Like many other bags that designed by me it comes with a curvey bottom. This is the first bag designed by me that comes with a flap.   Here my daughter modelling it to give you an idea of the bag size.

I am very happy with the result.  I submitting this handbag as my entry to Purse Palooza contest hosted by Sara at Sew Sweetness.  Hop over to Purse Palooza flickr group and see what other talented sewers are doing.

Happy Creating and Sewing!!
