June New FO

Hi Everyone!!

I've miss to share my May New FO and to ensure that I did not miss the June month I've drafted this post earlier. I did a lot of sewing of bags and stitching during this month. My 1st new FO for the month of June is  this Anne handbag.  The pattern was a giveaway prize that I've won at Clover & Violet.

Second handbag that I've sewn was this Weekend handbag.

I joined new quilt Along hosted by Quilting Gallery - Beginner's Quilt Along. Here are all the three blocks that I've finished in the month of June.

This is my progress with my Garden Steps quilt Along.  We are already at Block nine, and here are the latest block that I've done in the month of June.

Happy Sewing and Stitching!!

Anne handbag

Hi Everyone!!

The first bag that I’ve finished sewing in the month of June is the Anne handbag. The pattern is from Clover and Violet.

I have had this pattern for a while now and I am taking the opportunity to try this pattern for submission in the 2012 Purse Palooza contest hosted by Sara at Sew Sweetness.  I also share this handbag at Ellison Lane Quilts as my entry in the Summer sewing contest.

I used Ruby fabric by Bonnie and Camille. The bright color print and the design combination are just perfect for the sunny day.  These fabric were bought from Sew Lux Fabrics & Gifts. They have a lot of fabric choices in their store and selected  fabrics are on  SALE currently.

The handbag comes with a pocket.  Here is a view of the inside pocket.  It is big enough to fit in my coin purse and my cell phone.

Basically this is not the first pattern from Clover and Violet that I've sewn.  The first Clover & Violet pattern that I've tried was the Emma Clutch pattern.  Personally I would say that the pattern was well written and easy to follow.

Bag for my daughter

Hi ...

I am sharing a project that I've made for my daughter early this year which I did not blog about. I used Elizabeth Hartman of Oh,Fransson! Margaret Bag pattern.

I re-size it to a smaller version to make it suitable for my daughter to used.  The inside was fully lining with small pocket which my daughter used to keep her sweet. I used medium weight home decor fabric.

Here is my daughter posing with her bag... and her bear which she used to carry any where she goes.

Crocheted Granny Square bag

Hi there!!

Today's post is about crocheted bag...it was a work by my daughter.  I am helping her to finished it up with the lining, button and the handle. This is how the front looks like with the button closure.

I choose to crochet the handle differently from the pattern... and this is how the back of the bag looks like.

I have similar pattern  from a Japanese crocheting book ... and if you're interested to crochet one for yourself please write to me at shaza.zain@gmail.com  For the bag pattern  above I am still in the process of writing, and testing it...maybe I will come out with a step by step instructions, till then...
Happy Crocheting!!

Quilted Hexagon Bag

Hello everyone!

I have been crazy lately playing with hexagons...in fact I've already prepare a long list of projects that I would like to create using hexagons.

Today I am sharing another quilted bag created using hexagons. Since I am not too satisfied with the result (especially the crooked seam)I am not giving this bag away...( initially I plan to sew this as a  gift for my mum).  I will sew another one for my mum with some modification towards the original pattern.

I used 28 pieces of 2" hexagons. The design of this bag was inspired from this leather hand bag.

It comes with two internal pockets - one for the cell phone and another with the size of 5" x 6" to keep small items. I used velcro as the bag closure. The is how the inside of the bag looks like.

I am sharing this at Sew Lux Fabric & Gifts for December Stitch and Share Challenge.  Click over to their blog and see other projects shared by other talented crafters/sewers. You may also join the fun since the date line will be until 31st of December.

Wish everyone Happy New Year and Happy Sewing!!

Hexagon Bag

Photobucket
Hi everyone!!
I should have posted about this Purse Week : A Contest sooner but I spent almost all of my free time working on my entry.  I've decided to come up with my own pattern this round and it was really a good experience for me !  Remember the post that I wrote about these hexagons...

I have been playing around with the idea of creating a bag pattern from these haxegons and this was some sort of a trial version.  There are still a lot more work to be done to the pattern but I'm happy with what I've ended up with....

 I call it Haxegon Bag
It comes with a key holder at the side and a pocket.
If you happen to know about Purse Week only today, make sure to go over to A Lemon Squeezy Home for lots of bag inspired tutorials. To see what other talented people did...click HERE.

Bag again...

I've been working on this bag for my daughter during the weekend.
She would like to have a bag with her name on it just like what I did for her sister.
Almost everyday she keeps on asking for it...and with what
I have in my collection I start designing and cutting the fabric.
And this is what it turn out to looks like.
I machine sew everything and at last it's done.
I am using 100 percent fabric from  my stash collection
 to come out with this.
Oh yes!! she was so happy with the result even though
my zig zag stitching are crooked...
at her age of  six they are easily satisfied ...
The most important is her name spell correctly.!
and I am sharing this by linking to  Sew Darn Carfty and Keeping It Simple

Happy Sewing!!
