Skirts for My Daughters

Hi Everyone!!

I finished sewing skirts for my daughters sometime last week... the  first one was for my 8 years old daughter. It was made using Vintage cotton fabric with purple lace at the edge. It is a straight cut
pattern skirt.

My daughter posing with her new skirt.

The second skirt was for my 15 years old daughter.

It was a patchwork tiered long skirt made from light cotton fabric.

Both skirts submitted as entries to the skirt week contest which was hosted by Adrianna and Susan at crafterhours. There are many more skirts shared by other sewers over at   flickr:skirt week 2012  .  Have fun and enjoy!

Bag for my daughter

Hi ...

I am sharing a project that I've made for my daughter early this year which I did not blog about. I used Elizabeth Hartman of Oh,Fransson! Margaret Bag pattern.

I re-size it to a smaller version to make it suitable for my daughter to used.  The inside was fully lining with small pocket which my daughter used to keep her sweet. I used medium weight home decor fabric.

Here is my daughter posing with her bag... and her bear which she used to carry any where she goes.

Summertime Adventures : Quilted Drawstring Bag

Hello there!!!

Another project to share for the Summertime  Adventures at Clover and Violet.  The theme for the second week is Out and About.  Kat of  Diary of Flutter Kat shared her tutorial on how to make a drawstring bag...and I choose to do a  drawstring bag too ...  but used my own pattern version(since I did not follow any tutorial). I name it Quilted Drawstring Bag with lining.

I used  Sugar Pop by Liz Scott, and Bliss Polka Lime fabric which I bought from Sew Lux & Gifts combined with Paula Prass fabric which I bought at love me lots creations, an online shop locally owned by Ms. Zura.  The size of the finished  bag is 14"(W) x 3"(D) x 13"(H)

This bag is ideal for carrying  small crochet or stitching hexagon project.  It also can make a great gift wrap, travel pouch,  or to keep children toys.  In other word, it can be a great bag to take with you on the go!!

Summertime Sewing Adventures

Hello Friends!!

I have been following Clover and Violet new Series...Summertime Adventures Tutorial series Blog Hop.

The theme for this week is on sewing kit.  I choose to follow the  tutorial by Emedoodle at Mommy's Nap Time for her Sewing kit pattern.  This travel sewing kit  will replace my current envelope that I used to keep my hexagon project...yes! you heard me right...I used to keep my hexagon in an envelope. This is how my sewing kit looks like...

Basically I made two sewing kits from the same pattern...

April NewFO

Hi Everyone!!

I've been very busy for the past few weeks(office commitment)... and only today I'm able to share my April NewFO and sewing activities that took place in the month of April. I started the month of April by sewing two tops using the Wiksten pattern and join Kerry of VeryKerryBerry Tova Sew a-long.

Next were projects used half square triangle for the Half Square triangles festival at  Canoe Ridge Creations....    I did a lunch tote... and a Sewing Machine Cover.

Another small project that I sew is the Emma clutch pattern that I received free from Jennie of
Clover & Violet   for finishing the Ruby tote bag.  For more photos on this you may click HERE.

I also did have a new quilt block sew using my scraps...which I did not post about it in the month of April...this is how it looks like.  All the blocks are done and just waiting to be joined together...

Other activities that  involved sewing  were...  my Rose Garden quilt. I  managed to finished sewing  all the blocks and it's ready to be joined.

I finished stitching the embroidery for my Garden Step Block #3 for the Stitch & Quilt Along
that I joined at Clover & Violet.

April month is also  full with happy moments... I received both  my prizes that I won in the month of April..I would say this is my happiest birthday presents that I've ever received....fabrics from oversea.

The first prize was from Sharon of Vroomans Quilts for her 400 giveaway ...
which were Friendship and Bella solid charm pack.

...and secondly was a prize I won for my entry in the Festival of Scrappiness hosted by Rachel of
Stitched in Color.  The prize was sponsored by Mad About Patchwork

Ok friends...that's about all for the month of April...looking forward for more New FO and sewing activities in the month of May.

Happy Sewing!!

Emma Clutch : Charm Squares

Hello Everyone!!

This is how my Emma Clutch looks like. The pattern is  by Clover & Violet which I received for free for finishing the Ruby Market tote: Stitch & Quilt Along!

The clutch include a flap at the front with embroidery flower...I change the flap with a curve at both side.  and this is how my flap looks like.

The original pattern is with a magetic button for the closure...but for mine I used velcro closure.

For the lining  I used Ruby dot fabric by Bonnie & Camille for Moda  and for the fusible interfacing I used Pellon SF101...both were bought at Sew Lux

For this project, I used the Friendship charm squares that I've won  at Vroomans Quilts. I used total of 15 charm squares all together to complete this clutch. I intend to give this as a gift for my mother... Mother's Day gift ...Is it too early? Any way I love this clutch...

If you like the pattern and would like to try one, you may visit Clover & Violet shop HERE

I am sharing my finish project at  Stitch & Share Challenge:Charm Squares at Sew Lux & Gifts blog.
