August finishes #01 : Notebook covers

Hello Everyone!!

This month I am not only finished stitching one notebook cover but three notebook covers.  The first notebook cover is for my girl...it is for a notebook size 9.5" x 6.5".

She specially request to have a pocket at the front cover for her to keep small items. The pocket size is big enough to fit a calculator size. The fabric that I used is Magic Garden by Sabine Reinhart for Blend Fabrics which I've won from a giveaway last year.

The second notebook cover for my son's used the Good Fortune fabric by Kate Spain .  This cover is fit for a cute notebook size 6" x 5.5".  I'm using the left over fabric from the Jacob's Ladder quilt which the top is still a work in progress (will share in my next post soon...)

I handstitched my son's name(A D A M) at the front
This is how the back looks like
Following is the third notebook cover that I've made for my third daughter. I used cotton fabric which I bought from the local shop. This is how the finish looks like. I used black polka dot cotton fabric for the background with combination of red and blue color. This notebook cover is fit for a cute notebook size 6" x 5.5".

One common thing with all these three notebook covers are the design. I play with hexagons in designing them ... I love them all.

Happy Stitching!

2013 Finish-A-Long : 3rd Quarter

Hello!

she can quilt

Here I am again...with my list of UFOs that I wish to look into finishing in the 3rd quarter of this year.  This time I list my UFOs in photos  and label each of the project name below to the link when I started all these projects...

Garden Steps Quilt was a finished project from Quilt Along that I joined in 2012 hosted by mother/daughter team at Clover & Violet.

I also include one UFO crochet project in the list.  Hope it is OK with the Finish-A-Long rules.  It is my first crochet along that I joined in 2011 hosted by Scotti over at  Oxford Family.

Third in the list is the fabric that I've cut and seage for making a long skirt for my daughter.  I never share about it at my blog so I can't show how long I've beeen keeping the fabrics.

Fourth are bags inspired from the market tote quilt along that I participated in 2011.  The quilt along was  hosted at Clover & Violet.

Fifth is the scrappy postage stamp quilt which I finished the top in March 2012.

And last but not least the project that I look into finishing is this Geranium Baby dress(small size).  I found the free pattern at Made By Rae  which I download and start cutting the fabric early of this year.

One Flower Wednesday and WIP

Hi ...
It has been a long time since I'm sharing a flower from my garden for the One Flower Wednesday party.

Anyway this week I have completed one flower using the charm square that I won from Clover & Violet. This is how I use this flower. I will share the finish project after all the hand stitch done...

and this is another sneak peak on what I am working  currently with my Good Fortune fabric scraps.  For this I will make a notebook cover for my son.

I plan to link these two projects at the end of the a Season by Hand series over at Clover and Violet

Happy Stitching!!

June goals

Hello!

May has been a busy month for me...not busy with sewing but with my children and my day work.  Looking back in May...I only have two finishes which are pouches and crocheted cushion cover.  This scraptacular quilt is still a work in progress... Sewing that I did so far... and I machine quilt it.

So it will be my main project to finish for A Lovely Year of Finishes for June 2013.  I'm linking to join the party over at Fiber of All Sorts
A Lovely Year of Finishes

Other UFOs project that I look into finishing in June are...to piece these tiny Value Added blocks into a quilt top. I've started this quilt sometime last year and left it half way done.

and to start hand quilt this garden steps quilt top.
