Hello there!!
How is your Friday Night?  For myself ...Yes !! I did it...I finished sewing the postage stamp quilt top during the Friday Night Sew In.   Here is the result of my quilt top.  I used scrap fabrics with solid white as the border....

I'am thinking to used this scrap fabric for binding... I've yet to look for the backing fabric. Till then, today I am just sharing the finished quilt top.

Friday Night Sew In

Hi everyone!!

I choose to sew this quilt top for my sister for the FNSI ...
and  I am so happy since I manage to finished it.

It was sewn using scrap fabric given by my sister...and some comes from my own scraps collection.  The finished size of this quilt top is about 65" x 77".

That's about my project and I'm off to visit other bloggers ...
to see what they have to share...

Market Tote : Stitch & Quilt Along

Hi everyone!!

I choose to sew the Market Tote that I participated at Clover and Violet for the FNSI.  Basically the Quilt Along is called "the Ruby Market Tote" since it used Ruby fabric line. I drop  'the Ruby'  name due to my  market tote used different fabric line... For my market tote I used Japanese cotton fabric....and this is the result...

Front of the bag with embroidered pocket.

and this is how the back of the bag looks like.

It also can be fold and easy to carry since you can just roll and tie it up. For those who interested to sew this may click HERE for the details.

It has been a productive week for me and wish for you too.

Happy sewing!!

Embroidery 101 Quilt top

I choose to sew the quilt top from the  Quilt Along that I participated at Clover & Violet for the Friday Night Sew-In.  As a beginner and my first experience to sew a quilt, I find it very difficult , especially when there are few of my blocks are not in the same size.

Earlier  I choose to follow the design recommended by Janelle by adding a 2 " sashing with a small square....I did that, but it did not turn out right.  From the picture below you can see clearly that the sashing is not in line with the block...not satisfied with the result, I ripped open and stiched the sashing without the small square.

And the result ... my first quilt top!!

And below is how it looks on my queen size bed...

 Handmade by Heidi
The Friday Night Sew-In is an activity hosted by Heidi from Handmade by Heidi and her cousin Bobbi  from Crafty Vegas Mom where sewers virtually  get together sharing their projects that they have worked on Friday Night. It is open to International participation too....I've signed up for the coming FNSI which will be on May 20th.  Since this is my first particpation in FNSI ... I really feel excited and looking forward to it.
