Hi everyone!!

Just a quick post today....

The colors were of her choice - combination of Black and Red.
She wants it to comes with a flower from the same red with leaves.... and I add with a layer of pink to make the flower outstanding ...

and I love the result...hope she likes it too!!

Happy Crocheting and Happy Holidays!!

Fabric basket

Hi everyone!

I just finished sewing this fabric basket.... a gift for my husband.  The height of this basket is 5.5cm.   I used the following pattern which I took from the Japanese sewing book ...by just following the diagram since I can't read Japanese.

It gives me an idea to sew one for my hubby since he loves to put his coins on the mug rug that I've made  him.

And here goes the coins into its new home...

The fabric basket with full of coins at the corner of the computer table.

I am sharing this at the Sew and Share Challenge and Stash project of the Month.
Wishing everyone Happy Holidays

and  Happy New Year!!

Market Tote : Stitch & Quilt Along

Hi everyone!!

I choose to sew the Market Tote that I participated at Clover and Violet for the FNSI.  Basically the Quilt Along is called "the Ruby Market Tote" since it used Ruby fabric line. I drop  'the Ruby'  name due to my  market tote used different fabric line... For my market tote I used Japanese cotton fabric....and this is the result...

Front of the bag with embroidered pocket.

and this is how the back of the bag looks like.

It also can be fold and easy to carry since you can just roll and tie it up. For those who interested to sew this may click HERE for the details.

It has been a productive week for me and wish for you too.

Happy sewing!!

WiP

Hi everyone!!

I don't make much progress to my crochet projects this week... since I did a lot of sewing lately and went for holiday.
First in the list of work in progress is this Sunburst granny square Afghan...  I need another 32 pieces to finished it up before I can join everything together...

Next is this baby Cardigan which have been going very slow. I managed to make a little progress... at least I've finished with the body and to start crocheting the sleeves.

thirdly is this new baby brim hat which basically left with only the brim to finished it up... Hope next week I can share with everyone the finished hat...

Happy Crocheting !!

I feel so Happy...

Aviator Hat

Remember the post that I  wrote about Aviator hat which I've made for a customer? I made another one but with two different colors.  Basically for this hat,  I did not follow any specific pattern.... even though there are a lot of similar designs out there but I am not sure whether it is suitable to use with our local yarn(from my experienced I find that pattern on the web are usually turn out small).   Due to that I try to do some modification toward the first aviator hat pattern using the yarn that can be found locally and the result ... here it is...

For this version I used the Ondori Arcylic yarn(45g) using 4.5mm aluminium hook size.
It turn out suitable for baby size 9 - 12 months.

This is my nephew age 7 months old... it is just too big for him.

Happy Crocheting!!

Market tote: Stitch & Quilt Along

This is just a post to share my progress on the Ruby Market Tote: Stitch and Quilt along that I joined with others at Clover and Violet.  This is what I've completed so far ...

Patchwork bag body...done
before quilt

after quilted

The lining and the pockets ...done.  The embroidery pocket lining is yet to be pressed...

Embroidery ... yet to complete.

I decided to change the fabric for the pocket since the earlier fabric does not match with the overall tone of the bag body.

Happy Sewing !!

Crochet Pattern

These are what I've been doing during the weekend... writing a crochet pattern - baby hat and slouchy hat ...

and  this was the result... Baby Puff Hat for a baby girl.

Basically this hat will be a gift for a colleague who is already in her third trimester pregnancy..... I'm not sure whether it will be a girl or a boy anyway since the color is sweet for a girl so I designed a hat pattern for a girl... embellished with a pink flower.

I will crochet another one for a baby boy ... just in case if she had a boy instead of a girl. I'm thinking of crocheting a Baby Brim Hat ...

I also give my hand in crocheting a slouchy hat or should I call it beret ? Basically this is my first trial in writing a pattern for a slouchy hat. I used double crochet, half double crochet and cluster stitch in this pattern.

This is how it looks like at first  after a few rounds... the hat was too tight...

I am totally not satisfied with the result so I pull out everything and re-do again...

and after a few times doing this... at the end I have to satisfied with this...

I used 3 balls of 100% Arcylic yarn, weight 45 g to complete this adult size hat.

Happy Crocheting!!
